Elaine Barrington joined the Robert Gerrard team in 2018, bringing with her almost a decade of experience in the insurance industry alongside specialist expertise in commercial property cover and comprehensive knowledge across all aspects of commercial lines.
For Elaine, the individual needs of her clients are incredibly important, as is delivering the highest possible level of service. She prides herself on relationships where clients feel at ease in requesting her help whenever they need it.
With part of Elaine’s insurance career spent in underwriting, she is able to approach cover needs from a double standpoint, something which is beneficial for clients, especially those with unusual or hard to place risks. Elaine’s broking experience is also extensive, spanning everything from property and fleet to professional indemnity and liability cover.
Away from work, Elaine likes to do what she can to raise funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, a cause close to her heart. This includes running the odd half marathon or two. She’s also a keen gym-goer and enjoys quality family time.

Where did you grow up and what are your earliest memories?
I grew up in North Weald, Essex. The earliest thing I remember is riding my bike in the garden with my brother.
What was your first job?
I had a Saturday job at a stables in High Beech.

My family – including my pets – and my friends.
What was your last holiday destination?

My grandad used to work at the Tower of London guarding the crown jewels. When I was born, he wrote to the Queen to ask for permission to hold my christening at the Tower. She said yes!
