Robert Gerrard & Company Ltd. has a strong respect for your personal privacy and the protection of your data. We will only collect data when it is absolutely necessary to conduct our business.
We will never sell, rent or otherwise distribute or intentionally make your personal information public.
1.0 Personal Information that this website collects and why we collect it
This website collects and uses personal information for the following reasons:
1.1 Our Blog
Should you choose to add a comment to any posts that we have published on our blog, the name and email address you enter with your comment will be saved to this website’s database, along with your computer’s IP address and the time and date that you submitted the comment. This information is only used to identify you as a contributor to the comment section of the respective blog post and is not passed on to any of the third-party data processors detailed below. Only your name will be shown on the public-facing website although if the supplied email address is linked to a Gravatar account, your Gravatar photo will also be displayed.
Your comment and it’s associated personal data will remain on this site until we see fit to either 1.) remove the comment or 2.) remove the blog post. Should you wish to have the comment and it’s associated personal data deleted, please contact us using the email address that you commented with.
If you are under 16 years of age you MUST obtain parental consent before posting a comment on our blog.
NOTE: You should avoid entering personally identifiable information to the actual comment field of any blog post comments that you submit on this website.
1.2 Contact Forms
Should you choose to contact us using the contact form on our Contact us page none of the data that you supply will be stored by this website. The resulting email message will be transmitted and stored on email.
1.3 Blog “Like” Feature
If you click on the heart icon next to our blog posts then your IP address, the time, and post ID will be stored in our database. The IP address is recorded to help prevent duplicate “likes” from the same person.
2.0 How We Store Your Personal Information
As detailed in section 1.1 above, if you submit a comment to a blog post published on this website some personal information will be stored in this website’s database. This is currently the only occasion where personal data will be stored on this website.
This “comment data” is currently stored in an identifiable fashion; a limitation of WordPress (the content management system that this website is built on). In the near future, we aim to change the storage of this data to a pseudonymous fashion meaning that the data would require additional processing using a separately stored ‘key’ before it could be used to identify an individual.
We also record the IP address of anyone attempting to login to our website. As we do not offer member registrations or client logins this information is only used to protect our administrator accounts.
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. This table below explains the cookies we use and why.
|PHPSESSID||Strictly necessary||Until you close your browser||To maintain information about each visit to the website and enable core site functionality. This cookie does not contain any personal information and only lasts for the duration of your visit.|
|catAccCookies||Functionality||30 days||Saves a “1” to let us know that you’ve seen and accepted our cookie banner.|
|responsivestatus||Functionality||Until you close your browser||Used by our website theme to determine if your browser supports responsive design|
|wordpress_test_cookie||Strictly necessary||Until you close your browser||A test performed to see if cookies are enabled on your browser.|

|wordpress_logged_in_*||Functionality||12 months||Used to maintain any user’s identity if they log into the site.|
|comment_author, comment_author_email, comment_author_url||Functionality||2 weeks||Cookies beginning with “comment_author_…” are only stored if you make a comment on the site. They store your name, email and website so you don’t need to re-input each time you make a comment on the site.|
|wp_dlm_downloading||Functionality||60 seconds||The cookie stores the version code of the file last downloaded by the client for 60 seconds, and then the cookie expires and is automatically deleted. It serves to prevent the server-side download counter from incrementing multiple times if a user double-clicks a link or if their browser/download-client makes multiple requests to download a file within a 60 second window.
No personally identifiable information is stored in the cookie.
We do not automatically log personal data nor do we link information automatically logged by other means with personal data about specific individuals. We do automatically log user’s IP address and session information such as the duration of the visit and the type of browser used. This is recognised by the web server and is only used for system administration and to provide statistics which the business uses to evaluate the use of our website.
Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.
